Founded in 1964, Rockland Realty is one of the foremost real estate firms in Rockland County. The founder and owner, Alan Yassky and his firm are well known throughout the region for their involvement in all aspects of commercial real estate.
Rockland Realty began in the residential real estate business and expanded with the growth of Rockland County. In the mid 80's Rockland Realty decided to focus all of its efforts on the various aspects of commercial real estate. We pride ourselves on working closely with owners, investors, developers and tenants, both users and lessors, in satisfying all of their commercial real estate needs.

Alan Yassky,
is a native of Rockland County and is the president of Rockland Realty, which he founded in 1964. He has been a Realtor® since 1963.
At the national level, Alan served as NAR treasurer and chair of the Finance Committee from 1998 until 2000. He also served as Vice President and Liaison to Committees in 1996, chair of the Housing Needs Committee in 1992, vice chair of the Education Committee in 1988 and 1990, and served on the Strategic Planning Committee for six years. He has been on the NAR Board of Directors for more than 10 years.
At the state level, Alan was president of the New York State Association of Realtors® in 1987, president-elect in 1986, vice president in 1985, and secretary-treasurer in 1984. In the NYSAR, he was chair of the Budget and Finance Committee in 1984 and chair of the Executive Committee in 1988. He has been a member of the NYSAR Board of Directors since 1980.
In 1987, Alan was named Realtor® of the Year in New York state.
On the local level, Alan was president of the Rockland County Board of Realtors® in 1976, having previously held all of the elected seats of that organization. He also served as chair of the board's Membership, Legislative, Education, and Nominating Committees. He has also been an officer and director of the Rockland County Multiple Listing System.
Alan was twice-named Realtor® of the Year by Rockland County, in 1980 and again in 1987.
Active in the community, Alan is past president of the Spring Valley Rotary Club and has been a director of the Rockland Cancer Society and the Rockland Housing Coalition. He is past chairman of the Clarkstown Industrial Commission and a member of the M&T Bank Advisory Committee.
In 1983, he was named Rockland County Business Man of the Year. After many years of service on the board of the Rockland Economic Development Agency, a quasi-public agency dedicated to creating and retaining jobs and business in the community, the agency elected him Director Emeritus in 2001.
Alan graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.A. He and his wife, Jean who is also a Realtor® just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Alan and Jean have four children and eight grandchildren.
Steven Yassky has been associated with his family's business, Rockland Realty, and has been a Realtor since 1985. He became a broker in 1991 as well as a principal of the company. Steven oversees and manages the firm's daily commercial real estate operations which includes, but is not limited to leasing, selling, consulting, developing and managing of retail, investment, office and warehouse properties.
Steven is on the Board and Executive Board for the Rockland Economic Development Corporation in addition to being the Chairman of the Retention & Expansion Committee. He is also a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors®, New York State Association of Commercial Realtors®; and the County, State and National Association of Realtors®. Steven is a Graduate of the REALTORS Institute (GRI).
He is a graduate of Leadership Rockland and sits on their Board of Directors in addition to being active with the Rockland Business Association. Steven has also served on the Clarkstown Soccer Club's Board of Directors when he was the Youth Coordinator for over 10 years. He currently coaches his son's travel soccer team.
Steven is the exclusive broker for Airport Executive Park an office/warehouse park and Thruway Plaza Shopping Center a retail shopping Center, both located in Nanuet, New York. He has worked with many large and small firms over the years including The Journal News, Suburban Propane, Palisades Volvo, Palisades Audi and Bank of New York to name a few.
Steven graduated from Nyack High School and earned his B.A. at Gettysburg College. He and his wife Bonnie reside in Upper Nyack, New York with their two children. Steven is also an avid golfer and fisherman.
Alan Caplan joined Rockland Realty in 2001. Al was the Owner and President of Ronmar Specialties, Inc. For thirty-three years he worked extensively with builders, property owners and retail businesses selling and installing steel security items including doors and grills.
He is a past Vice-President of both Dellwood Country Club and its charitable arm, the Dellwood foundation, which has benefited the Rockland County Community. In 1993, the Westchester Chapter of Cooley's Anemia Foundation honored him as the Man of the Year. Al continues to serve on their Board.
He is a graduate of Northeastern University with an Engineering Degree and also holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University.
Al has been a resident of Rockland County since 1969. He is married to Karyl Caplan the Executive Director of Rockland ARC. They have two sons and two grandchildren.
Bonnie Elder Yassky joined Rockland Realty in 2003. For the previous 10 years she was Vice President and owner of Comnet Communications, a manufacturing representative firm. Bonnie was responsible for finances and management of the more than ten lines represented. She utilized her portfolio management experience gained from her years with Chrysler Capital Corporation.
Laura Yassky joined Rockland Realty in 2005 and became a Realtor® after 8 years with PeopleSoft. At PeopleSoft, Laura managed and executed executive events and provided communication support for the sales leadership team. She developed and implemented marketing plans that were designed to build pipeline and drive revenue in North and Latin America. Prior to PeopleSoft, Laura worked for United States Congressman Joseph McDade (10th-PA) and Sony Electronics, Inc.
Laura earned her B.A. from Gettysburg College in 1993.
